My Story

Though I have loved drawing and painting ever since I can remember, my real passion to create was sparked during my Art GCSE at school. Over the next 20 years, I continued to draw and paint at every opportunity. I filled sketch books and friends' and family's walls, with my art. I attended workshops and courses whenever I could. When I travelled, my art materials always accompanied me and I have a lifetime of holiday memories captured through my art.

Drawing and painting have always been my passion, but in my early days a love of reading and a fascination with philosophy, led me to study this, instead, at degree level. I believed that this would only enhance my creative output and it did, indeed, bring a greater depth of perception and improved expression, to my art practice. I completed my degree at St. Peter's College, Oxford in 1997.

After graduating, I moved to Belsize Park in London and took up a career in Marketing, being drawn to this as an outlet for my creative side. During this time, I worked for a number of big companies including, Sainsbury's and Habitat. However, never finding this creatively stimulating enough, I eventually decided to make the move to full-time artist.

I moved out of London in 2007 with my husband and two daughters to rural Hertfordshire. It is here that I enjoy painting every day. I work from my home studio in a 17th Century barn conversion overlooking the beautiful countryside.
